A Field Guide

How the Guide Works

Have your recipe ready. Use this guide to replace its wheat flour with Petley Grain Gluten-Free All Purpose Flour.

01

Choose what you’re baking

Select the closest match to your recipe, such as cookies or cake. Select “Next: choose swap” to continue.

02

Start with the same flour amount

Keep “Same amount” selected for your first bake. This replaces the wheat flour with the same quantity of Petley Grain Gluten-Free All Purpose Flour.

Use “Less flour” or “More flour” only when adjusting a previous bake. Select “Next: flour amount” to continue.

03

Enter the flour from your recipe

Enter the amount of wheat flour your recipe calls for. Choose cups or grams to match the recipe, then select “Show my result”.

For example, if your recipe calls for 2 cups of wheat flour, enter 2 and choose cups. With “Same amount” selected, use 2 cups of Petley Grain Gluten-Free All Purpose Flour.

04

Measure, mix, and bake

Measure the flour amount shown in your result. Keep the other ingredients as written in your recipe.

Do not add extra xanthan gum. It is already included in Petley Grain Gluten-Free All Purpose Flour. If your recipe lists extra xanthan gum, leave that out.

Follow your recipe’s mixing instructions, cooking temperature, cooking time, and doneness checks. Read the practical tip shown for your bake.

05

Save or adjust for next time

Select “Save this formula” beneath your result to keep it. If you are not signed in, select “Sign in to save this formula”.

If your bake is gummy, crumbly, dense, or flat, open “If your bake didn’t turn out as expected”. Try one change at a time on your next bake.
